Compost Mulch Success Story
Last year, in the winter I installed compost mulch around an apple tree that the owner had not seen produce leaves in years, and feared was completely dead.
I assured her that trees work in ways that are strange to us, and since the limbs seemed filled with water and viable, the tree was alive and dormant.
Compost mulch was a sure-fire way to improve the tree’s health, using soil biology to revive her.In the spring, the tree felt it had enough nutrients to produce leaves and sustain itself, and so she did. Producing fruit will surely come, if not now, next growing season.
Very happy to share this success story!
